I was being sculpted

I am a product of my upbringing
The forests
We deforested
The barren land
The river we swam,
And from the water we drank
The soccer fields,
The red soil and dust mix
The holiday crowd,
The songs
The loneliness and the solace
The perception
Of the western life
The glamour and the lights
The wealth we never had
The luxury cars, houses and looks
Even the scent, we couldn’t relate
Only by brand name
Growing up
In moments of happiness and sad
In the sand of my land
I was being sculpted
My inner being, my soul was crafted!

Sealed Love
